The Carnival begins

Carnival in Veneto is identified with the magical atmosphere of the Carnival of Venice, famous throughout the world.

However, it is not the only event in the period preceding Lent to boast such a deep-rooted and heartfelt tradition.
Among the oldest carnivals in Europe we find the Carnival of Verona, better known as Bacanal del Gnoco, which on January 19 will begin with the election of the 495th Pope of the Gnoco, who will lead the Carnival.

Even in our valley this period of the year is particularly loved and full of initiatives that contribute to keeping the traditions of Valpantena alive: the allegorical floats, the queen masks of the Grezzana carnival, "Il conte Allegro" and the inevitable "Bandito Falasco", and finally the gastronomic delights.
